Annually, Anderson Creek Emergency Services responds to over 1,500 Fire & EMS calls for service. These include structural and vehicle fires, motor vehicle accidents, hazardous materials incidents, severe weather incidents and all manner of medical emergencies. Many of the members of Anderson Creek Emergency Services also belong to some of the specially trained response teams within Harnett County. These include the Land Search and Rescue team (SAR), the Underwater Dive & Recovery Team, the S.T.A.R. Team & the S.MA.T. Team.
We protect a population of roughly 20,000 residents and visitors encompassing 6 square miles. We provide service to these residents and vistors with a combination of paid staff and volunteer members, responding with 3 fire engines, a rescue truck, a brush truck, 3 ambulances & an administrative support vehicle.
Our Emergency Medical Services Division consists of approximately 25 Emergency Medical Technichians. We are an Advanced Life Support provider, and maintain one EMS crew consisting of one EMT-Intermediate and one EMT-Basic on-duty at all times. A Paramedic from Harnett County EMS responds to all calls for service in Anderson Creek along with our EMS crew. If additional calls for service are recieved while the on-duty crew is already responding to a medical emergency, off-duty & volunteer personnel respond as well as mutual aid EMS units from neighboring departments and Harnett County EMS.
Our Fire Division consists of 5 career firefighters on-duty Monday - Friday from 6AM until 4PM. Highly trained volunteer firefighters respond to calls after 4PM and on weekends, as well as during the weekdays to assist the on-shift career firefighters. Many of our members are cross-trained and certified as both firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians. This gives our department a total strength of approximately 50 experienced and dedicated professionals ready to respond to any type of emergency.
